The sun shone down on his reddish colored coat as Cash walked down to the water. He stopped at the edge and turned his sightless gaze down to the water, lapping at it. After a moment he laid down by the water, in a patch of sunlight, resting his head on his paws. He curled his tail around himself, slowly closing his eyes, feeling at peace. He just laid there for a while. then his ears started to twicth and he lifted his head, smelling the air. That scent... Could it really be her? He thought to himself as he turned his head in the direction of the smell.

Scar landed on the ground with a breathy sigh, having perfected the time it took to morph so she always landed on the ground as a human. Threading her fingers through her hair, she plucked jet black feathers that had found it's way into the wavy mess. A soft little hum escaping her pale lips, she pulled up all of her curls and managed to keep them tied up at the top of her head. Satisfied that she wouldn't have to deal with her annoying hair, the female stretched out her legs, one hand reaching back and rubbing her back where she knew her wings would come out as soon as she morphed. Lost in her weary little trance, a usually so cautious Scar hadn't once noticed the canine opposite the riverbank, having done the most lethal mistake, having ignored her senses and left herself open to anything.

He picked himself up off the ground, shifting as he did so. He couldn't see her, but he just knew she was there. Slowly and carefully Cash made his way over to her. Once he was close enough he spoke the words in barely more than a whisper: "Hey Scar.." He suddenly looked sad, and tired. Memories slowly came back to him.

Her eyes widened at the voice, and she practically jumped out of her skin, chewing on her lower lip as she saw him. [glow=red,2,300]"H-.. Hi."[/glow] she said back, her voice soft but with enough defensive under tones so show that one wrong move and she'd be shooting off into the air again, like she had been doing so the past few months. She turned to fully face him, her head cocking to the side as she assessed his posture. As always, he was like an open book, and she felt her legs shaking at just the sight of him.

Why'd you even bother coming up to her? He asked himself, sighing. He wasn't even sure what to say, and wasn't even sure she cared anymore. Lately he'd been feeling more useless than ever. He slowly turned his head away from her as he questioned himself in his mind, as the memories of her all came rushing back.
